Prenatal Care
The midwives at Flagstaff Birth and Women’s Center provide complete, comprehensive prenatal care and can offer and order all the same testing options as an obstetrician or family physician. However, the FBWC midwives take the extra time to provide you with all the information so you can make an informed choice about your care.
At each extended prenatal visit, the midwives will get to know you and your family. There is plenty of time in each visit to provide education, support and self-care strategies along with providing the appropriate health screenings to monitor the health of you and your baby.
At your prenatal visit we will:
-
Answer questions and address all of your specific concerns
-
Discuss ways to maintain a healthy pregnancy and lifestyle
-
Educate you and your family about midwifery care, pregnancy, nutrition, birth, breastfeeding and parenthood.
-
Provide up to date information and resources on exercise, body-awareness and changes, nutrition, the physical development and health of your baby, avoidance of toxic substances and dangerous activities and childbirth preparation.
-
Have a cup of tea together and enjoy getting to know one another!
